Lucia and Isabella Bueno-Mallarino are sisters and talented designers who employ an ancient technique in the making of their designs. They have a strong bond to their native Columbia, but reside between Paris, Brussels and Columbia, and their lacy filigree (also known as Telkari) jewellery is handmade by the most skilled artisans in Columbia. Mallarino’s elaborate designs are delicately hand-sewn with strands of silver and/or 24ct gold vermeil using the wire filigree technique, which is a stitching of fine pliable twisted threads of metals that produce a curvy lace-like effect. Each fancy piece, from leaf to floral designs, is unique and organic.
